reeldouble

terms

The deal, in plain words.

These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use ReelDouble. They are written to be read rather than to be survived, and everything in them is something we actually do.

01

Who we are and what this is

ReelDouble is run by Reeldouble LLC, an Arizona LLC. In these terms, we and us mean that company, and you means the person using the service.

ReelDouble is a web studio for making short AI video. You write a script, lock a character so the same person appears in every part, pick a look, and the service renders a voiced, lip-synced video you can download. It also stitches finished parts together in an editor and can share a project as a link that plays every part in order.

By signing in or spending a credit you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the service.

02

Your account

You must be 18 or older to use ReelDouble. It is not built for people under 18 and we do not aim it at them or knowingly sign them up.

Accounts are created by signing in with Google. You are responsible for the Google account you sign in with and for everything done under your ReelDouble account, so keep that sign-in to yourself. One account is for one person. If you want your team on it, give each of them their own.

Tell us if you think somebody else is in your account, and we will help you shut it down.

03

Credits and billing

Everything the service renders is priced in credits, and every price is shown before you commit to it. New accounts start with a batch of credits to try it with. After that you can subscribe to a plan, which gives you a set of credits each period, or buy a one-time pack of credits without a plan.

Credits have a life. A plan's credits are for the period that granted them and expire at the end of it, so a monthly plan's credits last that month and an annual plan's last the year it paid for. If a renewal payment fails, that period's credits stay spendable for a few days afterwards, so a card problem does not empty your balance the same day. That grace is short and fixed; it is not tied to how long we go on retrying the card. Credits bought in a pack last 12 months from the day you buy them. Your starting credits do not expire.

Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your card. Plans renew automatically at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time from billing.

What is refundable and what is not is on the refunds page, which is part of these terms. The short version is that a failed render is never charged, a delivered one is not refundable, and an untouched credit pack can go back within 14 days.

The course is sold separately from all of that, once rather than by subscription, and it has terms of its own: the course terms, also part of these. They are worth reading before you buy it, because the course is not refundable and the credits that come with it expire.

Money can also go the other way. If you refer people to ReelDouble or to the course you can be paid commission for it, and what you earn, when it is paid and what ends the arrangement are in the affiliate terms, part of these as well. You agree to them separately, in the studio, before any of it applies to you.

We can change prices. A change to a plan you are already on takes effect at your next renewal, not in the middle of a period you have paid for, and we will tell you before it does.

04

What you may not make

You agree not to use ReelDouble to make or share any of the following.

  • A real person's face, voice or likeness without their clear permission. That includes public figures, people you know, and anybody whose photo you happen to have.
  • Anything sexual involving a minor, or anything that sexualises a person who appears to be a minor. There is no context in which this is allowed here and it is reported.
  • Content made to deceive: fake news, fabricated events presented as real, impersonation of a real person or organisation, or anything designed to pass as a genuine recording.
  • Harassment of a specific person, threats, or content that incites violence against anybody.
  • Anything unlawful where you are, or anything that breaks the rules of the platform you post it to.
  • Attempts to break the service: probing it for holes, hammering the API, scraping it, reselling access to it, or reverse engineering it.

You are responsible for what you write into the service and for what you do with what comes out. If you break this clause we can remove the content, suspend the account, and where the law requires it, report it.

05

Who owns what

You own your inputs: your scripts, your character descriptions, anything you upload. You own the videos the service makes for you, as far as we are able to give them to you, and you can use them commercially.

Two honest limits on that. AI video is generated by third-party models, and their own terms apply to the output as well as ours, so what you get from us cannot be broader than what they give. And the law in most places does not grant copyright to a purely machine-generated work, which is a fact about copyright rather than a claim by us.

We do not claim ownership of anything you make. We do keep a limited licence to your content, for one reason: to run the service. That means storing your renders so we can serve them back to you and to anybody you send a share link to, making thumbnails and filmstrips of them so the library and the editor can draw them, passing your prompts to the model providers who generate the video, and keeping backups. It also covers using aggregate, de-identified information about how the service is used to improve it. We do not use your videos or your scripts in marketing without asking you first.

The service itself, the site, the code, the name and the mark, stays ours.

06

It is generated, and it is not perfect

Everything the studio produces is generated by AI models. It can be wrong, strange, off-brief, or nothing like what you asked for, and the same prompt will not give you the same video twice. Two accounts writing similar prompts can get similar results, so nothing here is exclusive to you.

Characters are not real people and nothing generated is a record of anything that happened. Where you post AI video somewhere that expects it to be labelled, label it. That is on you, not on us.

07

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service up and we do not promise it will be. Renders depend on model providers we do not control, and when one of them is down or slow, so are we. We do maintenance, we ship changes, and features move, get better, or occasionally go away.

If we make a change that materially reduces what a paid plan gives you, it will be said plainly here and in the studio before it takes effect, and you can cancel.

We can change these terms. A change takes effect for you the next time you use the service after it is published here, and the date at the top is the last time anything on this page moved, so it is worth a look if you have been away.

08

Ending it

You can stop whenever you want. Cancel the plan from billing, and ask us to delete the account and we will.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is being used to make the content in clause 04, or that is putting the service at risk. Where it is reasonable to warn you first, we will. If we close your account for something you did not do, you get the unused part of what you paid back.

After an account closes we delete its content on the schedule in the privacy policy. Download anything you want to keep before you go.

09

What we are on the hook for

The service is provided as it is. We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error free, or fit for a particular purpose, and we are not warranting that a generated video will be any good.

We are not liable for indirect losses: profit you did not make, a campaign that did not land, work you lost time on, or a video that did not perform. For everything else, our total liability to you is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the thing you are complaining about happened.

None of this limits anything that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud or for death or injury caused by negligence.

10

If your use causes us a problem

If somebody brings a claim against us because of what you made with the service, what you posted, or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and any damages that come out of it. We will tell you about the claim promptly and let you take part in handling it.

11

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Anything that cannot be settled between us goes to the state or federal courts sitting in Maricopa County, Arizona, and we both agree to that.

If one clause here turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. Not enforcing something once does not mean we have given it up.
